IBI Group provided architectural services for the design of the Advanced Learning Centre and the Advanced Technologies Centre at Tameside College, bringing greater economic success and transforming learning for students. The Advanced Learning Centre and Advanced Technologies Centre form the cornerstone of Vision Tameside, a strategic partnership between Tameside College, Tameside MBC and local business partners. This local alliance was established to provide closer links between the college and industry in order to support business skills and entrepreneurship within the borough.

The new 5,000 sq m Advanced Learning Centre located in Ashton town centre provides a catalyst for the redevelopment of Tameside College’s existing estate and the creation of a new town centre campus. Dedicated accommodation has been provided as a permanent home for the business skills team. Linked directly to the social spaces within the atrium, the facilities provide flexible training, teaching and incubator areas.

The 3,500 sq m Advanced Technologies Building located at the Beaufort Road campus will create a contemporary facility supporting training programmes related to rapid prototyping, advanced engineering processes and associated high technologies.

The new facilities not only benefit students, but staff and employers as well by providing a modern learning environment that inspires the next generation of learners.
